Who we are
Coast Spirit ("the house", "we") is the data controller for information you share through this website. You can reach us at [email protected], or by post to the house at Åsgårdstrand, Norway.
What we collect and why
When you send an enquiry through the form on our home page, the details you enter, your name, your email address, the dates you have in mind, and any note you leave, are used only to answer that enquiry. When you accept optional analytics cookies, we collect aggregate information about how the site is read: pages viewed, time on page, and the country the visit came from.
We do not collect special-category data. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not sell any information to third parties.
Lawful basis
We rely on your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) for optional analytics cookies and for any marketing correspondence you ask us to send. We rely on the necessity of a request (Article 6(1)(b)) for the enquiries you send through the form, and on our legitimate interest in running a small country hotel securely for the essential technical cookies that keep the site working.
Retention
Enquiry correspondence is kept for twenty-four months from the date of your last message, then deleted. Analytics data is aggregated and retained for no more than fourteen months. Server access logs are kept for thirty days for security purposes and then rotated out.
Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to ask us to delete it, to restrict how we use it, and to object to particular uses. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. To exercise any of these rights, please write to [email protected] and we will respond within thirty days.
Where the site is hosted
The site is served from data centres inside the European Economic Area. We do not transfer personal data outside the EEA in the course of running this website.
